765-kV Transmission Route Map

The STEP and Permian plan includes 14 massive new 765,000-volt lines, running hundreds of miles across pastures, ranchland, and communities from East, Central, and South Texas out to the Permian Basin.[ERCOT] [ERCOT] [HPPR]

Approved routes, every alternative link still under review in dockets in process at the Public Utility Commission (PUC), link options for planned lines not yet filed, and dotted point-to-point best guesses for the other 765-kV lines ERCOT has endorsed. Information for Landowners Along the Routes

If a proposed line route crosses your property or family ranch, the utility company is required by law to mail you a formal landowner notice. Each line segment is assigned its own docket number at the Public Utility Commission.

The deadline to intervene in the current cases has passed, but anyone can still file a public comment in the pending cases: Big Hill–Sand Lake (Docket 59182) and Bell County East–Big Hill (Docket 59475). The PUC has already approved Longshore–Drill Hole (Docket 59029), Dinosaur–Longshore (Docket 59315) and Howard–Solstice (Docket 59336). For those lines, the governor, who appoints the commissioners, and the Legislature are the only path left.
